Day 1 -Durango / Sarnoso Canyon
|
Leave from Durango in the Morning to the Mapimi Region about a 200 miles 4 hour drive, lunch and then starting at Dynamite (small town), we drive on a dirt road into the Sarnoso Canyon. Here we observe the strange rock formations, flora and fauna, and Indian paintings of the Canyon. We take several short treks, stop to take pictures and so on. Late in the afternoon we arrive at the Rosario Caverns where we set up camp have dinner, get ready for a night of
great star gazing checking out planets, stars, metorites,
night flying objetcts. Camping night. Bolson

| Day 2 -Mapimi |
Very early in the morning, after a good coffe or
an even better juice, we take a trek through the desert
identifying cactus, plants,
birds and animals, we will explain the complex
survival system that the deser
t forces them to have
in able to live in this ecosystem. During the spring
season we will see the fantastic desert flower bloom, by mid morning we go into the exciting underworld of the Rosario Caverns, we are talking of millions of years and great formations inside, lunch as we go out and take a hour drive to the colonial town of Mapimi where we visit the museum, the church, the cemetery, and other historical landmarks. Dinner at a chinese restaurant with Mexican food and on to our small town hotel with limited services, but with a good shower and bathrooms.

| Day 3 -Mapimi / Durango |
Early breakfast at our Mexican Chinese restaurant, good American coffee, and we continue our trip to the Ojuela Mine, where we can walk across the longest hanging bridge in Latin America 320 yards, and take a tour of the mine. do a little mineral hunting have Lunch and drive back to Durango. End of tour.
